About Us
Educate2Empower Financial was birthed out of our own financial struggles, which came as a result of the mismanagement of our money. This all came to a head in 2004 when we went from a two-income family (Tab’s company downsized) to a one income family. At the time, our two young daughters (ages 3 and 5 years old) attended an expensive, Christian private school. We made the decision to remain a one income family and one of the first changes we made was to homeschool our two girls.
When we did the math, since we no longer had a hefty private school tuition bill (uniforms, books, activities, weekly lunch, gas driving back and forth, etc.) we had enough money with one income to support our family. So, we were like, “We got this!” Well, how many of us know that old habits die hard. In our case, our bad habit (financial mismanagement), didn’t just "go away". it's possible that this may be the same state you find yourself in today.

Needless to say, for us, these "bad habits" caused many financial challenges such as late payments (which resulted in late fees), bounced checks (which resulted in bank fees), and ultimately caused many other issues for our family. Some of the younger people are probably saying, “what’s a bounced check???”(LOL!!! Google it! 😊). Fortunately, we never had to file for bankruptcy and by the grace of God and His mercies we made it through those difficult times. It was indeed a journey, and we made many mistakes along the way because of our mindset and the lack of Financial Literacy. Our passion is to ensure that you don’t make the same mistakes we did!
